Project description
FortaVerde is Möhring Energie ‘s PtX project in cooperation with Sunfarming Holding do Brasil in Pecém/Ceará/Brazil for the production of green ammonia based on renewable energies. The project is designed as a modular, scalable plant and combines technological feasibility with a clear focus on international sales markets and industrial decarbonization.
The first phase of the project , FortaVerdeZero—a pilot plant—will lay the groundwork for reliable production of green molecules in a market with excellent conditions for renewable energy and existing port infrastructure for export logistics. With a projected electrolysis capacity of 12 MW and planned annual production of approximately 6,000 metric tons of green ammonia, this is the first phase of a larger, PtX facility—which is to be gradually expanded to a capacity of 2.2 GW —and is geared toward long-term industrial partnerships, international supply chains, and the growing demand for climate-friendly raw materials.

Target markets and benefits
With FortaVerde, Möhring Energie is addressing the growing demand for green ammonia as an energy source and industrial raw material. The project is geared toward applications in which fossil-based molecules must be phased out.
Relevant target markets include industrial customers and logistics hubs in Europe. For export logistics, memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and letters of support have been signed with the Port of Pecém, the Port of Rotterdam, and duisport. In this way, FortaVerde is helping to build resilient international supply chains for green molecules and supporting the decarbonization of sectors such as steel, chemicals, fertilizers, and energy supply.
