What “green” Means to Us
Terms such as “green,” “renewable,” and “climate-friendly” are used inconsistently in the market. We disclose the basis for our statements.
Green Electricity
Electricity from renewable energy facilities—primarily from our own photovoltaic and wind farms, as well as from our project partners’ facilities. [Add information regarding the practice of issuing certificates of origin]
Green molecules
, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and eSAF as RFNBO (Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin) as defined by RED III (Directive (EU) 2023/2413). The following are decisive:
- Complementarity of Renewable Energy Generation
- Temporal and geographic correlation between electricity generation and electrolysis pursuant to Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1184
- A greenhouse gas reduction of at least 70 percent compared to the fossil fuel baseline, in accordance with Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1185
What We Do Not Claim
Our products are not climate-neutral.
RFNBO requires a reduction of at least 70 percent. Our systems are designed to achieve a significantly higher reduction rate; we document the project-specific figures as part of the respective certification process.
We do not offset emissions in order to claim neutrality.
Project status
Our PtX projects are currently under development. Information regarding production quantities and product characteristics refers to the planned design, not to ongoing production. The status of each project can be found on its respective project page.
