Member of the Bundestag Mark Helfrich visits Möhring Energie in Busenwurth
On June 18, 2025, CDU Member of Parliament Mark Helfrich visited the Möhring Energie Group’s headquarters in Busenwurth. The in-depth discussion focused on specific challenges and strategic decisions regarding the energy transition – in Germany, Ukraine and within the framework of international energy partnerships, for example with Morocco.
As Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group on the environment, climate, nature conservation and nuclear safety and future Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Federal Network Agency, Mark Helfrich is a key contact for energy and climate policy issues at federal level.
Among other things, the discussion focused on
- the rapid implementation of Solar Package I in order to create planning security for numerous PV projects in the pipeline and genuine community energy parks
- the SME-oriented expansion of photovoltaics, wind power, storage and CHP systems to close the 20 GW gap – taking into account decentralization, economic efficiency and system resilience
- strengthening the German-Moroccan energy partnership, particularly with regard to green hydrogen and eFuel projects as part of the industrial transformation
- the need for investment guarantees for SMEs abroad – for example for projects in Ukraine – as a contribution to reconstruction and long-term European energy supply
- and specifically: the grid connection of the new battery storage unit at the Busenwurth site
Thinking business and climate protection together
Sascha Möhring, Managing Director of the Möhring Energie Group, emphasized:
“The energy transition is not an end in itself – it is also an opportunity for economic growth and international competitiveness. Medium-sized companies like us are prepared to invest in new technologies and resilient infrastructures – if the political framework is right.”
For his part, Mark Helfrich emphasized the need to interlink climate, environmental and economic policy even more closely in future. He was open to specific suggestions from project practice – for example on the green gas quota or the prospects for international climate cooperation under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
We would like to thank Mr. Helfrich for his visit, the open discussion and his willingness to provide concrete political support. The Möhring Energie Group will be happy to continue this constructive exchange – for a decentralized, resilient and internationally networked energy future.
